A Helping Hand at Christmas

Christmas is a time of year where we usually love to come together but this year will be very different for us all. 2020 has been a challenging year in so many ways.

That’s why this year, instead of our Team Christmas Party, we have decided to use our budget to support local charity Helping Hands and make a donation which will go towards wellbeing bags for the Esther ladies.

The wellbeing bags will include a wellbeing journal, sewing kit, a mug and some food treats.

The Esther Project has been developed to empower vulnerable women – this could be domestic violence, mental health or addictions. The support provided enables the opportunity to get together, build friendships and learn. This ranges from life skills such as cooking on a budget to fun sessions like arts and crafts.

Would you like to support Helping Hands? In addition to The Esther Project, Helping Hands give everybody (not only women) support and opportunities to feel better about themselves, be more active in the community and get back into work. They run a Gateway Café and Soup Kitchen offering hot food and a listening ear. They like to give a hand up not just a handout through new skills, experience and qualifications. The volunteers for their House 2 Home project support recently re-homed low-income families with goods from fridges to furniture. Some of these services may be limited at the moment so please check their website for the latest information www.helpinghandscharity.org.uk
